We're all raised to be whomever our parents/society/etc wants to be. Even at a young age, you're taught and shown how "wrong" it is to stray away from that "normal path" they want us to take. One thing Punk/Hardcore has shown and proven to me is that it's okay to be out of step. What's a life if you're nothing doing what it is that puts a fire inside your heart? I'd rather be happy almost nothing, then to have huge house and multiple cars just because that's what's taught to us as being "successful". Don't ever buy into an American Dream because that's what is expected, it's nothing but a trap.
